Exploration Geologist

Job Description

The Exploration Geologist is a salaried, exempt position that typically works a four‑day workweek on‑site. The role is responsible for the production of mine site, geological mapping, and interpretation. Core duties include RC chip logging, core logging, photographing chips/core, and uploading data to cloud‑based storage. The position generates accurate maps and cross sections and assists with daily, month‑end, annual, and other departmental production reports.

• Develop and execute drilling programs to discover, define, and develop resources within Marigold’s tenement.
• Log RC and core samples and update geologic models.
• Communicate logging findings, concerns, or potential inconsistencies with the resource‑modeling team for resolution or investigation.
• Use Leapfrog 3D modeling software to validate logging and check for consistency.
• Assist with pit and outcrop mapping and data analysis for geological modeling, interpretation, and mineral evaluation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of principles and methods used in an open‑pit mining operation.
• Effective written and verbal communication with various individuals, crews, departments, and organizational levels.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex or diverse information.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (B.S) in Geology or Geologic Engineering.
• 0–5 years of experience in open‑pit hard‑rock mining or in an exploration environment (preferred).
• Demonstrated ability and experience using mine‑modeling software;
  Mine Sight & Leapfrog preferred (GIS and CAD programs are helpful).
