*** POSITION OVERVIEW
** A Gaming Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment throughout the gaming property by monitoring guest and employee activity, responding to incidents, and enforcing company policies and regulatory standards. In this role, you will safeguard assets, ensure compliance with gaming regulations, and support a safe and welcoming experience for guests and staff. You'll work closely with surveillance, law enforcement, and internal departments to investigate and resolve security-related issues.
** ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
** The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:
* Patrols the gaming floor and all other areas of the property to monitor guest behavior and ensure the safety of patrons, employees, and property.
* Observes and reports suspicious activity, potential threats, or violations of rules and regulations.
* Monitors entrances, exits, and restricted areas to prevent unauthorized access.
* Responds to disturbances, medical emergencies, accidents, or thefts in a timely and professional manner.
* Maintains a strong presence on the gaming floor, ensuring all gaming operations comply with company policy and state gaming regulations.
* Assists with the transport of table fills, slot drops, jackpots, and other secured transactions.
* Completes detailed written reports for all incidents, investigations, and observations.
* Works closely with Surveillance and law enforcement when necessary.
* Provides directions, information, and assistance to guests and employees.
* Supports the enforcement of property rules and policies, including responsible gaming procedures.
* Assists in emergency response situations, including evacuations, fire alarms, and safety drills.
* Performs security escorts as needed for guests, employees, or funds.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
** SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
** This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but may assist in mentoring or training new officers or security team members as directed by a Security Supervisor or Manager.
** QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * High school diploma or GED required.
* Prior experience in law enforcement, military, or security preferred.
* At least one (1) year of experience in a security or customer service role; gaming experience is a plus.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
* Knowledge of our ability to learn state gaming regulations and casino policies.
* Must maintain professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information.
* Ability to observe details, recall facts, and prepare clear written reports.
* Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
* Strong verbal communication and conflict-resolution skills.
* Basic computer proficiency for report writing and communication.
** CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
*** Must be able to obtain and maintain all required licenses and work cards as mandated by local and state regulatory agencies, including but not limited to:+
** Gaming Registration
** with the Nevada Gaming Control Board (or equivalent authority)+
** Non-Gaming Card** (if applicable)+
** Valid Health Card**+
** Valid Alcohol Awareness Card** (if required)+
** Security Officer License** (if required by local jurisdiction)
** LANGUAGE SKILLS
** Ability to read and interpret safety procedures, incident reports, policies, and regulatory documents. Must be able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing, especially in emergency or high-stress situations.
** REASONING ABILITY
** Ability to use sound judgment in stressful or emergency situations. Must be able to analyze situations quickly and determine appropriate action. Ability to interpret instructions, policies, and security procedures and apply them consistently.
