Infrastructure Field Technician

Wireless Installs & Tower Work | Entry Level | Overton, NV.

This is an on-site field position. Relocation costs are not covered.

Info West is an Internet service provider based in St. George, Utah, serving communities throughout southern and central Utah and Overton, Nevada, with reliable wireless and fiber-optic technology. We recently became a subsidiary of Boston Omaha Corporation (NYSE: BOC) and are growing quickly. As part of that growth, we're looking to add a field technician who can install wireless internet equipment for our customers and support our wireless network from the tower side.

Our objective is simple: to provide the ultimate internet experience, one customer at a time. We're looking for someone who wants to help close the digital divide in our community and give more households access to fast, reliable internet.

About the Role

This is an entry-level opportunity for someone interested in building a career as a wireless infrastructure technician. You'll split your time between customer sites, installing and configuring wireless equipment so people can get online, and our tower sites, where that equipment connects back to our network. You'll train alongside experienced technicians and foremen to learn both sides of the job. This position will also require in office work on multiple programs for billing and scheduling.

What

You'll Do Customer Installations
  • Install and configure wireless customer premise equipment (radios, routers, and related hardware) at homes and businesses.
  • Test signal strength and connection quality, and confirm service is working properly before completing each install.
  • Walk customers through their new equipment and service in clear, friendly terms.
  • Perform routine service calls and troubleshoot wireless connectivity issues.
Tower Work
  • Climb communication towers to install, mount, and align wireless radios and antennas, following all required safety procedures.
  • Perform routine tower maintenance and equipment upgrades.
  • Work safely around tower equipment such as bucket trucks, lifts, and rigging as needed.
Equipment and Vehicles
  • Install battery backups and grounding systems for equipment.
  • Prepare equipment for jobs and maintain company-issued tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Drive company vehicles between job sites.
Training and Safety
  • Attend training sessions and professional certification opportunities.
  • Attend safety meetings and training, and follow OSHA and all other applicable safety rules and company policies at all times.
  • Use all required safety equipment for the task at hand.
  • Work well both independently and as part of a team.
What You'll Need
  • Physical ability and willingness to climb towers while following all required safety procedures.
  • Comfortable working outside in all weather conditions, including high and low temperatures.
  • Good communication and customer service skills; comfortable explaining equipment and service to customers in plain language.
  • Basic AC/DC electrical skills; knowledge of low-voltage wiring is a plus.
  • Basic familiarity with personal computers, routers, and wireless networking concepts.
  • Willingness to take part in rotational on-call coverage.
  • Previous wireless, telecom install, or customer service experience is a plus, but not required.
Working Conditions and Schedule
  • A mix of outdoor fieldwork (customer sites and towers) and some indoor work, in varying weather conditions.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb and work from ladders, rooftops, and towers.
  • Ability to operate manual and mechanical equipment as needed.
  • Ability to work with or without direct supervision.
Education and Licensing
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required. No CDL required.
  • Must pass a background check, MVR check, and drug screen.
