Lifeguard – Aquarius (Laughlin, NV)

General

Summary:

Assist guests in the proper use of pool facilities and equipment. Monitor activities in swimming areas to prevent accidents and to provide a safe and healthy aquatic environment for hotel guests. Maintain cleanliness of pool deck area and provide excellent guest service. Handle any emergencies as appropriate.

• Maintains supervision of the pool, ensuring the safety of the pool area.
• Appropriately addresses any issues, concerns or rule violations with guests.
• Recognizes and responds effectively to all emergencies.
• Enforces all facility rules and regulations.
• Maintains a clean and attractive pool environment.
• Reports any unsafe conditions to the pool manager or lead lifeguard.
• Performs on poolside stage with games and activities for guests.
• Performs any other duties as assigned by management.
• Provides outstanding guest service to all internal and external guests.

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• One to three months of related experience or training preferred.
• Must have excellent guest service skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally.
• Ability to remain calm and make appropriate decisions in emergency situations.
• Ability to effectively communicate in both one-on-one and group settings.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain all cards required by the company.
• Must be able to verify right to work in the U.S.

• Frequently walk, stand or stoop (over 75% of the time).
• Ability to walk and/or run on slippery surfaces (over 75% of the time).
• Regularly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 lbs. (50% of the time).
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 200 lbs.
• Speech, hearing, literacy, and vision (critical).
• Ability to tolerate moderate noise levels and extreme weather conditions (over 75% of the time).

• CPR and First-Aid certification
• Lifeguard certification
