S&M is looking for an experienced and driven Senior Geotechnical Engineer for our Geotechnical team in New Albany, Indiana. Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities- Geotechnical Analysis & Design: Perform and oversee advanced evaluations related to foundations, settlement, slope stability, and earth support systems, and recommend appropriate ground improvement or mitigation methods.
- Project & Client
Collaboration:
Partner with clients, contractors, and internal teams to support successful project execution while providing guidance, feedback, and mentorship to junior staff. - Reporting & Proposal Development: Produce clear, well‑organized technical reports, contribute to project proposals, and support marketing and relationship‑building activities.
- Leadership & Quality Focus: Promote best practices by maintaining compliance with company standards, emphasizing safety, risk management, schedule adherence, and quality control throughout all phases of work.
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, Mining, or a related engineering field.
- Minimum of 10 years of project management experience in the A/E/C industry.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one.
- Strong proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
