Job Description

We are seeking an entry-level construction materials technician to conduct tests on concrete for slump, density, and moisture in a laboratory environment. This position involves in-house training provided by current employees, ensuring a robust learning experience.

Responsibilities

+ Communicate effectively with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractor representatives, and other relevant parties about construction site requirements and testing, observation, and inspection results.

+ Transport material samples with appropriate identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.

+ Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.

+ Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

+ Assist with scheduling and dispatching technicians to project sites as necessary.

+ Adhere to strict safety standards at all times.

+ Document findings and results clearly and accurately.

+ Participate in progressively increased roles of training and responsibility in work assignments.

Essential Skills

+ Laboratory experience, particularly in construction material testing.

+ Proficiency in using Lab Tab.

+ ACI certification is required.

+ Experience conducting slump tests, using nuclear density gauges, and performing asphalt testing.

+ Experience in lab settings is preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Albany, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
