Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Metrology Engineer to support a manufacturing work center environment. This position is responsible for supporting new product development and manufacturing efforts through advanced metrology and inspection solutions. The engineer operates within an R&D-driven environment, evaluating and implementing measurement technologies to enhance automation, improve inspection delivery, and drive efficiency across production processes. Acting as a collaborative partner to tooling engineers, operations, and quality teams, this individual influences technical decisions and ensures measurement systems meet evolving business and product requirements.
The role involves working with a variety of metrology tools and techniques including CMM systems, optical measurement equipment, and statistical analysis software, while contributing to continuous improvement in product validation and manufacturing processes. This is a first shift, direct placement opportunity with an incredibly employee-focused company in the New Albany, IN area.

- 3-5+ years of experience in metrology, quality, or manufacturing engineering (not entry-level)
- Bachelor's degree in an analytical, engineering, or technical discipline
- Experience with 3D modeling
- Proficiency with CMM and/or hand measurement tools
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence engineering, tooling, operations, and quality teams Programming/scripting experience (Python and/or Java)
- Experience in product development and/or manufacturing environments
- Experience supporting new product development (NPD) initiatives
- Experience with optical measurement systems (Micro Vu, OGP highly preferred; Zeiss or Mitutoyo also relevant)
- Solid Works, Minitab, or JMP experience
- Military experience, particularly PMEL
