AboutThe Role
The Kitchen Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of dining services within our healthcare environment. This position is responsible for overseeing daily food service activities, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and resident satisfaction. The manager will coordinate with various departments to accommodate dietary needs. They will also manage staff schedules, training, and performance to foster a productive and compliant team.
Ultimately, this role ensures that all dining services contribute positively to the overall resident experience while adhering to regulatory and organizational standards.
- Supervise and coordinate daily dining service operations to ensure efficient and high-quality food delivery.
- Manage and train dining services staff, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and ongoing development.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to accommodate special dietary requirements related to medical conditions.
- Maintain accurate records related to dining services, including inventory, staff attendance, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a food-service health care setting, preferably long-term care.
- Cooking/Culinary experience is required.
- Must hold Serv-Safe Certification.
- Basic knowledge of dietary needs and food safety regulations.
- Proficiency in records management and documentation practices.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Experience working within healthcare settings.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in hospitality management or related field preferred.
- Additional training in customer service or conflict resolution.
