Job DescriptionJob Duties
The ER Technician functions as an on‑shift team member under the direction of the nurse by providing delegated aspects of patient care and routine non‑patient care unit maintenance tasks. Their responsibilities include triaging patients, handling call lights, helping with varied procedure set‑ups while maintaining sterile fields, cleaning and dressing wounds, assisting with casting & splinting, collecting swabs such as flu & strep, transporting patients, performing EKGs as requested, assisting with all resuscitations in addition to either performing Foley catheters or phlebotomy.
Aboutthe Department
The Emergency Department (ED) has 41 beds divided between two pods with 37 private rooms. A split‑flow area is located near main triage and provides care to lower acuity patients. This fast‑paced ED treats an average of 160+ patients per day. ED staff encounter a wide variety of patients including acute cardiovascular and neurovascular emergencies, general medical emergencies, traumatic injuries and psychiatric patients.
The ED is recognized by the American Heart Association as both a STEMI receiving center and a designated Primary Stroke Center.
High school diploma or equivalent.
BLS certification from an approved BLS course required; training will be provided.
