Seeking Registered Nurse working the WOW (Weekend Only Work) shift in Baptist Health Floyd Step‑Down ICU. Part‑time, 24 hours weekly, nights (7 pm‑7 am). Benefit eligible. Up to $15,000 bonus for experienced external candidates.
ResponsibilitiesIn this role, the RN will be responsible and accountable for direct comprehensive nursing care for the patient from admission to discharge. The Registered Nurse will function as an on‑shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co‑workers.
About the UnitThe Step‑Down ICU, also known as 2F, is a 16‑bed intermediate level of care unit between the Inpatient Units and the Critical Care units. While the unit specializes in septic and respiratory–compromised patients (COPD, PNA, Respiratory Failure), nurses will encounter a variety of diagnoses such as CHF, dysrhythmias, DKA, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, AMS, etc. Working closely with an interdisciplinary team, nurses provide excellent care for a high‑acuity population.
2F is a great place for nurses to cultivate and expand assessment skills while managing several drips and other specialized procedures. Due to the proximity and collaboration with the ICU, 2F is commonly utilized as a progressive stepping‑stone for RNs to build a foundation of skills needed to be successful in the ICU. It’s also a great unit for LPNs to maximally utilize their training and skills in patients of progressive acuity.
