Full time - hospital and clinic coverage, occasional weekend and holiday coverage.
Responsibilities- New inpatient consults, inpatient follow-up visits.
- Provide care to patients in the following settings: routine follow-up visits in the office, urgent follow-up visits in the office, urgent and provider requested consults and new patient visits.
- Communicate patient care activities to the physician (visit notes/test results).
- Participate in clinical continuous quality improvement activities.
- Collaborate with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
- Order appropriate medication, laboratory, and diagnostic procedures.
- Administer medications and injections.
- Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention.
- Recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Instruct patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions; provide patient education.
- Maintain and review patient’s records, charts, and other pertinent information.
- Triage patient telephone calls and provides consultation.
- Registered Nursing license as well as having met the degree level required by each state to obtain an NP license.
- Graduate of an accredited program and board certified with prescriptive authority.
- Strong interpersonal skills; knowledge of billing services is required; understands the physician/NP/Patient relationship.
- Successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program with certification by a national Nurse Practitioner certification board.
- Three (3) years professional nursing experience in a clinic or hospital setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required;
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
