Seeking Charge Nurse! Baptist Health Floyd, 2F Step-Down ICU. Part-time (24 Hours Weekly), Nights (7pm-7am). Benefit eligible. Up to $15k Sign on Bonus Eligible for Experienced External Candidates Only.
Job DutiesResponsible for acting as a resource nurse for the department. This entry-level leadership position coordinates care on designated shifts, provides leadership to the unit staff in patient care, and serves as shift leader. This position will only provide direct patient care during critical staffing, otherwise acting as resource nurse and overseeing employees.
About the UnitThe Step-Down ICU (2F) is a 16-bed intermediate level unit between the inpatient units and critical care units. It specializes in septic and respiratory-compromised patients (COPD, PNA, respiratory failure) while also managing diagnoses such as CHF, dysrhythmias, DKA, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, AMS, etc. Nurses work closely with an interdisciplinary team, providing excellent care for a high-acuity population. The unit is a stepping-stone for RNs to build skills for the ICU and a place for LPNs to apply training in progressive acuity patients.
Qualifications- Graduate of an approved nursing program with a minimum of an ASN.
- Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
- BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
- ACLS certification required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
- One year of nursing experience required; one year of experience in area of specialty preferred.
- Professional/specialty certification required as per unit/department standards.
