Job Description:
Seeking Charge Nurse! Baptist Health Floyd, Emergency Department Observation Unit Full-time (36 Hours Weekly), Nights (7pm-7am). Benefit Eligible $$ Sign On Bonus Eligible for Experienced External Applicants Only! $$ EOE.
Responsible for acting as a resource nurse for the department. This is an entry-level leadership position responsible for the coordination of care on designated shifts. He/she will provide leadership to the staff members of the unit in the area of patient care. This position will work alongside the team and provide direct patient care while determining needed staffing fluctuations during shifts, responding to departmental concerns, address immediate staff issues and coordinate patient flow.
This position has immediate oversight of employees while performing the same or directly related work as those the position leads.
About the UnitThe Observation Unit is a 29-bed unit affiliated with the Emergency Department and observes patients who are expected to be in the hospital less than 24 hours. Nurses in this unit care for a variety of patients including chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs.
The unit is staffed with a provider between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM each day of the week to provide support and high-level care. New Graduate RNs welcome.
Qualifications- Graduate of an approved nursing program, holding a minimum of an ASN.
- Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
- BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
- ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
- One year of nursing experience required;
- One year of experience in area of specialty preferred.
- Professional/Specialty certification required as per unit/department standards.
