American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care/Cardiac ICU RN for a day shift assignment requiring an active IN or compact RN license and BLS certification.

• Work in a 16-bed Cardiac ICU (CVCU) unit within a hospital setting
• Utilizes a universal bed concept where patients remain in the same private room from surgery through discharge
• Care for pre/post open-heart surgery patients, general ICU patients, complex cardiology cases, IABP/Impella patients, and post-cardiac arrest cooling patients
• First shift schedule, 6:30am-7:00pm
• 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• 0.9 FTE position

• Active, unrestricted RN license (IN or compact) required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices

• Provide comprehensive nursing assessments and document patient care in accordance with scope of practice and hospital policies
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Deliver patient and family-centered education and individualized treatment planning
• Delegate and oversee patient care tasks performed by other team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, falls prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
• Clinical educator provides customized orientation for the unit
• Collaborate effectively with an interprofessional care team
