American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring an active RN license (IN or compact) and BLS certification, with no prior experience required.

• Work in a 16-bed Cardiac ICU (CVCU) providing pre/post open-heart surgery care using the universal bed concept, allowing patients to remain in the same private room from surgery through discharge
• Also care for general ICU, complex cardiology, IABP/Impella, and post-cardiac arrest cooling patients
• Day shift schedule, 6:30a-7p
• 36 hours per week, 3 shifts of 12 hours each
• 0.9 FTE

• Active, unrestricted RN license (IN or compact)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document in accordance with RN scope of practice and hospital policies
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in coordination with the interdisciplinary team
• Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members, monitoring accuracy and completeness of delegated care
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities, including patient satisfaction, falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTI prevention
• Clinical educator provides customized orientation for new team members
• Promote a positive, healing environment through effective communication and collaboration with the care team
