Travel RN - Telemetry - Direct Observation Unit

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Direct Observation Unit position on night shift, requiring an active IN or compact RN license and BLS certification.

• Work in a 32-bed Observation Unit affiliated with the Emergency Department for patients expected to stay under 24 hours
• Patient population includes chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs
• Provider on-site daily from 7a-5p
• 3rd shift schedule, 7p-7a
• Works 3 shifts per week at 12 hours per shift, totaling 36 hours weekly
• 0.9 FTE

• Active, unrestricted RN license (IN or compact) required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior experience required
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and use of medical equipment

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and coordination of admission, transfer, and discharge activities
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Facilitate patient and family education and support the discharge process in coordination with Case Management
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as monitoring patient satisfaction, falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTIs
• Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members as appropriate
