Job Summary:Under direction of the Team Leader this individual will perform various functions in the Logistics/Business Development area. The Broker will be the communication and negotiating channel for our customers & carrier partners. The effective daily management of selling freight, customer service (i.e., profitability and utilization) of resources, order tracking and carrier dispatch are their primary focus. Independent and discretionary judgment is applied when presenting customer and service solutions and communicating concerns to management.
Essential Responsibilities:- Matching loads to carriers/drivers via phone and/or computerized systems
- Order entry of loads including all necessary information required for billing and effective dispatch
- Present and sell company services to current and potential clients
- Calling Carriers to Sell Freight
- Follow up on new leads and referrals
- Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned
- Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships
- Manage account services through quality checks and other follow-ups
- Identify and resolve client concerns
- Communicate information, or feedback gathered through Customer calls
- Exercises discretion and independent judgment regarding daily workload
- Calling Carriers to Sell Freight
- Represent Company in a professional manner in accordance with our Core Values
- Works with employees and management team to attain company goals
- Consistently exceeds productivity standards for all assignments
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- 1 year of Brokerage in the Transportation industry preferred
- PC proficient with good working knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel and Word
- Experience in DAT;
Get loaded;
Internet Truck stop a plus - Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills
- Good communication skills include the ability to interface effectively with customers, vendors, and all internal departments
- Be able to work cohesively as part of a diverse team
- Ability to Sell and Close New Business
- Ability to follow directions with emphasis on accuracy and quality control
- Ability to learn and utilize various software systems utilized to perform daily tasks
- Be able to read, comprehend, count accurately, do simple math and write English legibly
