Our Mission

Open Door Youth Services exists to respond to the needs and promote the healthy development of vulnerable children and youth.

Open Door Youth Services is a 16-bed residential program providing emergency shelter and residential treatment for youth ages 10–21 who have been placed by the Indiana Department of Child Services or Juvenile Probation, or who are experiencing homelessness or family crisis.

We are seeking a licensed or license-eligible Therapist to provide individual, group, and family therapy in a trauma-informed residential setting. This position works collaboratively with youth, families, residential staff, and community partners to promote healing, build resilience, and support successful outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Conduct clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy.
  • Facilitate therapeutic groups focused on emotional regulation, coping skills, social skills, and trauma recovery.
  • Collaborate with residential staff, case managers, schools, courts, medical providers, and other partners to coordinate care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and discharge planning.
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation.
  • Provide crisis intervention and trauma-informed support as needed.
  • Educate and support families throughout treatment.
  • Participate in professional development and staff training.
  • Support Open Door's Trauma-Informed Treatment:
    The Restorative Approach model.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field.
  • Indiana licensure (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent) or eligibility for supervised licensure.
  • Experience with youth in residential treatment or behavioral health preferred.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, CBT, family systems, and crisis intervention.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to complete background checks, CPR, and First Aid certification.
Qualifications Schedule

Full-time Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $60,416 annually. Full-time employees are employees of Floyd County Government and receive the generous county benefits package and paid time off. Employees are also eligible for free virtual telemedicine and mental health services through the Indiana Youth Worker Well-Being Project.
