We provide civil/site design and land surveying, environmental, geotechnical, construction administration & inspection, accident reconstruction, roof/building envelope, A/V system design, troubleshooting & installation, transportation design (bridge/roadway), and specialized testing services to the construction industry.
We are hiring Field Engineers for Construction Services (water treatment, water delivery, and wastewater projects). You will be based out of the New Albany office in northeast Columbus and will work on water/wastewater projects throughout the central Ohio region up to Cleveland (≈2‑hour radius).

- Performs a variety of tasks such as research, testing, problem solution, construction management/administration of W/WW projects.
- Participate in field visits and inspections as required.
- Serve as a representative of the firm at all required meetings, leading client coordination throughout the construction process.
- Conduct and document field observations for construction activities performed by the contractor(s) for water treatment and water delivery construction projects.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and related codes and standards.
- Ensure construction work conforms to design documents, approved submittals, regional standards, local codes and best construction practices while adhering to schedule/timeline and budget aspects.
- Identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents.
- Communicate deficiencies to management/proper personnel.
- Communicate and coordinate with construction contractors, municipal and private property owners in a cooperative, productive manner to overcome challenges while serving the best interest of the client.
- Monitor the progress of construction activities and provide guidance to contractors to ensure adherence to project timelines.
- Discuss plans, specifications and work schedules with Project Manager and Engineers, contractors, utility companies and other governmental agencies, etc.
- Perform project administration duties such as preparing monthly pay applications and change orders for presentation to the client.
- Assist other project management staff with identifying problems and developing viable solutions for consideration.
- Communicate and enforce construction quality standards.
- Follow company safety policies and procedures.
- Review contractor submittals for compliance with project specifications.
- Assist in the resolution of construction-related disputes or claims.
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
- Targeting 0-5 years of applicable/related experience.
- Previous W/WW construction inspection/project experience is preferred but not required.
- In-depth understanding of construction principles and concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- A valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
