Job Summary
The Construction Manager will be directly responsible for monitoring and refining the long‑range and short‑term construction plans to ensure the success of the data center projects. They will direct and coordinate field activities, manage costs and schedule, implement safety programs, verify quality, and coordinate with general contractors, vendors, and consultants.
Qualifications- 5‑10+ years of experience in construction management of large‑scale projects.
- Experience in data center, critical facility, or mission‑critical environments.
- Experience overseeing general contractors and external vendors.
- Proficiency in project documentation, quality assurance, and progress reporting.
- Strong skills in cost tracking, scheduling, and problem‑solving.
- Willingness to consent to a background check.
- BS in engineering, construction management, or related field (preferred).
- CCM, PMI, PMP, or similar certification (preferred).
- Manage and coordinate project operations and resources.
- Assist with preconstruction efforts.
- Oversee all project phases from inception to closeout.
- Review GC/Contractor Project Executive Plans, trade contracts, bids, and procurement processes.
- Develop scope of work and evaluate proposals for GCs, equipment vendors, commissioning agents, testing and inspection agents.
- Monitor project status, procurement, equipment delivery, schedule, cost control, safety, and change management systems.
- Maintain relationships with internal partners, designers, consultants, and the GC team.
- Lead GC/Contractor OAC meetings, including progress, pre‑construction, and pre‑award forums.
- Coordinate internal inspections, test data reviews, and compliance with specifications.
- Review GC/Contractor site logistics, procurement, safety, and schedule plans during development.
- Support MSOW submissions, reviews, scheduling escorts, and blackout dates.
- Conduct regular project walks to review progress, schedule updates, invoices, and quality.
- Demonstrate commitment to an Injury‑Free Environment (IFE) through actions, mentoring, and enforcement on projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time within a team.
- Knowledge of design, bidding, and construction processes, quality control, costs, risks, schedule, and safety.
- Familiarity with construction delivery methods:
Design‑Build, Design‑Bid Build, CM‑at Risk, Design Assist. - Understanding of business and management principles for strategic planning, resource allocation, and risk assessment.
- Proficient with MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, Procore, SIM PMIS, Microsoft Outlook, Teams, One Note, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
- CCM, PMI or PMP certification preferred, or comparable certification.
Contract (W2) position based out of New Albany, OH. Duration: 30+ months.
Start date:
July 2026. Onsite full‑time.
Pay rate:
Up to $115.00/hr (range stated). Per Diem:
Yes (for relocating or traveling).
