Project Overview:Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. Bechtel will design and build Phase 1 of the Ohio One project, a total of 2.5 million square feet, including 600,000 square feet of clean rooms. Construction will require as much steel as eight Eiffel Towers and as much concrete as the tallest skyscrapers.
Bechtel will strengthen future economic development in the region by partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline.
Job Summary:Civil-Structural Field Engineer will assist the construction team in the technical aspects of the civil, structural, and architectural scope. Individual will provide direct support to superintendents and craft professionals, including, but not limited to, work package creation and maintenance, quality control, quantity verifications, material take-offs, material verifications, design change coordination, and general problem solving - all in support of meeting project cost and time schedules.
Project involves a significant civil/structural scope involving both structural concrete and structural steel. Candidate should be well versed in concrete operations and the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Codes and Standards. Candidate should be well versed in structural steel erection and the American Institute of Steel Construction manual and standard. Candidate should be able to proficiently work in high-paced environments and manage change while upholding Bechtel Safety and Quality standards.

- Collaborates with engineering teams to address constructability and design challenges related to commodity installations and work sequencing.
- Provides comprehensive field engineering support to superintendents and project personnel, ensuring adherence to cost and schedule objectives.
- Develops work plans, coordinate material take-offs, create material requisitions, perform and document quality control inspections, report installation progress, and resolve design and construction conflicts related to the installation and testing of civil/structural commodities.
- Performs Civil Field Engineering activities including inspections, audits, and planning to support the installation of formwork, rebar, concrete, structural steel, architectural commodities, and earthworks.
- Assures procedural compliance.
- Supports preparation of construction drawings, construction schedules, design of temporary construction facilities, and ensures preparation of as built drawings.
- Review specifications, purchase orders, subcontracts, inspection reports, delivery schedules, instruction manuals, and technical data to assist and advise on site.
- Oversees and coordinates subcontractor work efforts and subcontract changes and interfaces.
- Required 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience
Skills:
- An understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes, including Standard Work Process Procedures, is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of ACI 301, 318, 117-10, 305R, 306R, AISC, RCSC
- Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs which may require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, usingfall protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE), walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, and maneuvering around very smalland/or confined spaces.

- Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H). Demonstrated commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.
