We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to provide hands-on safety leadership and oversight for an active project. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional who wants to be visible, engaged, and influential in the field while partnering directly with Project Management and field leadership.
What You ll Do….
As the EHS Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the project safety program and ensuring compliance with applicable OSHA, federal, and state requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and oversee the project’s Environmental, Health & Safety program
- Partner with Project Management and field leadership to plan and implement project safety requirements
- Conduct daily field safety audits and inspections using electronic safety software
- Perform risk assessments, JHAs/JSAs, and assist with site-specific safety plans
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions for unsafe conditions and behaviors
- Investigate injuries, incidents, near misses, and general liability events
- Monitor OSHA compliance and assist with OSHA-related issues, citations, and documentation
- Provide and oversee project safety orientations
- Develop and deliver weekly safety talks, toolbox talks, Safety Stand Downs, and pre-shift safety communications
- Deliver employee training on topics such as Fall Protection, Ladder Safety, Scaffolding, Trenching & Excavation, PPE, and other applicable safety requirements
- Identify safety trends and implement proactive injury-prevention strategies
- Coach and mentor field personnel while reinforcing a positive safety culture
- Attend pre-construction, project safety, planning, and other project-related meetings
- Monitor changes to applicable federal and state regulations and communicate requirements to project personnel
Required:
- CHST certification AND/OR a degree in a safety-related field
- OSHA 510 or equivalent
- 3–5 years of field-based safety management experience
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and applicable occupational safety regulations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to positively interact with and influence field personnel
- Ability to coach, mentor, and build trust with employees and project leadership
- Ability to work flexible hours and shifts based on project requirements
Preferred:
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills
- Construction, industrial, manufacturing, energy, or other high-hazard safety experience
- Experience with electronic safety management and inspection platforms
- Experience developing site-specific safety plans and JHAs/JSAs
- Additional OSHA or safety certifications
- Experience conducting incident/root-cause investigations

You should be confident enough to intervene when necessary, approachable enough that employees will come to you with concerns, and knowledgeable enough to provide practical solutions that work in the real world.
