Field Construction Safety Manager

Location:

New Albany, OH

Duration: 18+ Months (Immediate Need)

Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $45/hr

Per Diem: $125/Day (7 Days Per Week)

Completion Bonus: $150/month

Monday-Saturday | 6x10s | 60 Hours Per Week | 1st Shift

Join an electrical contractor supporting the construction of an off-grid powerhouse for a large-scale data center project in New Albany, OH. This is an 18+ month opportunity providing hands‑on field safety oversight throughout multiple phases of electrical and power‑generation construction.

The Field Construction Safety Manager will work directly with electrical crews, supervision, and project leadership to identify hazards, maintain OSHA compliance, and support the safe execution of electrical installation, equipment setting, power distribution, and related construction activities.

Required Qualifications
  • OSHA 30 Construction Certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of construction safety experience
  • Electrical contractor safety experience
  • Powerhouse, power generation, or energy construction experience
  • Data center or mission‑critical construction experience
  • NFPA 70E electrical safety knowledge
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) experience
  • Electrical energization or commissioning experience
  • CHST, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP credential
What You'll Be Doing
  • Provide daily field safety oversight for electrical construction operations
  • Maintain a highly visible presence alongside electricians and field supervision
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments
  • Monitor electrical installation and power‑generation construction activities
  • Support safe equipment installation, material handling, and electrical infrastructure work
  • Monitor temporary power and electrical safe work practices
  • Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and hazardous energy control activities
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans
  • Monitor fall protection, elevated work, aerial lifts, and material handling operations
  • Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project‑specific safety requirements
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Maintain safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports
  • Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel
  • Partner with project leadership to proactively identify and mitigate hazards
