Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. Bechtel will design and build Phase 1 of the Ohio One project, a total of 2.5 million square feet, including 600,000 square feet of clean rooms. Construction will require as much steel as eight Eiffel Towers and as much concrete as the tallest skyscrapers.  Bechtel will strengthen future economic development in the region by partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will support and oversee field subcontracts. The candidate maintains a continuous review of the progress of each subcontract and provides management with information regarding any financial, legal, or technical issues. Tasks include: the preparation of change orders and amendments and resolution of any technical issues. The successful candidate should have extensive experience overseeing all project phases, from bid through turnover/completion.

Targeted subcontracts include:
Coatings, Insulation, and Fireproofing subcontractors. Heavy emphasis will be placed on installation, sequencing, and inspection of in-process work. Extensive experience with spray-applied intumescent and cementitious fireproofing systems, as well as other specialty coatings required.

Experience with the operation, application and inspection of abrasive blast and industrial spray equipment required. Plural component spray application experience preferred. Major Responsibilities:

Primarily interfacing with Coatings, Insulation and Fireproofing subcontractors, potentially can be expanded to include other subcontracted scopes.

Overall planning, coordination, and scheduling of subcontractor work. Interface with Lead Superintendents, Lead Field Engineers, the direct hire team and other team members; serve as a focal point for coordination of work by assigned subcontracts.

Monitoring and inspecting the subcontractor’s quality of work, validating subcontractors installed quantities and monthly progress payments and invoices.

Monitoring subcontractor force account, time and management reports, and coordinating subcontractor’s activities with work performed by others.

Performing surveillances and inspections of subcontractor work to confirm compliance with subcontract requirements; monitoring subcontractor submittals and coordinating project review of same, and coordinating with Engineering when applicable.
