Project Description
Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets.

Job Summary:
Assigned to the Construction organization as a Survey Engineer Technician, responsible for providing field and office support as required to the construction survey team. This position reports directly to the Survey Engineer/Party Chief (PC). The Survey Engineer Technician interprets design drawings and specifications to determine associated commodities and equipment locations and provides support to his/her assigned field survey team in support of the civil, structural, mechanical, and piping installations in the work area.

Major Responsibilities:
* Provide Construction Survey support to the PC and Project Survey Manager.
* Support the survey team's implementation of the project safety, quality, and environmental programs.
* Assist the PC with the accurate layout of construction work, recordation of field data according to job specifications and appropriate methods of performing survey activities.
* Perform duties of a Rod Person and/or Instrument Person on a direct-hire survey crew; operates the survey instrument(s), rod, staff, GNSS rover, and other survey implements as required in accordance with Bechtel survey procedures.
* Perform other duties as required in support of construction layout, laser scanning or other survey activities, including substituting for the PC during his/her absence.
* Assures that all survey equipment is in good working order and that instruments are properly transported.
* Assist the PC in providing support to both Field Engineering and Field Supervision. Assist the PC in developing and maintaining survey data.
* Performs Calibration Baseline checks of survey instruments.
* Supports the administration of the survey work request program.
* Assist the PC in providing civil project completion documentation including "As-Built" records. Assist in performing verifications of subcontract survey work.
Education and Experience Requirements:
* Engineering/Technical degree and at least 3 years' experience in heavy construction/industrial surveying, with modern instruments and software, or in lieu of a degree, 9 years' experience.
