AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. You will work across software, hardware, and network teams to install, test, and maintain Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) in Amazon data centers.
Key Responsibilities- Work primarily in the field at data center sites, supporting multiple locations under Deployment and/or Service.
- Perform point‑to‑point checkouts between field devices and controllers.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot instrumentation for BMS and EPMS, including Air Handler Unit (AHU) controllers, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), temperature and pressure sensors, and third‑party devices.
- Configure networking and perform communication testing between third‑party devices, controllers, and servers.
- Calibrate and configure sensors.
- Read electrical schematics and control panel drawings; understand closed‑loop controls and industrial controller functions.
- Supervise low‑voltage electrical contractors performing wiring and installation of field devices.
- Provide commissioning and systems‑level testing support; conduct root‑cause analysis during commissioning.
- Create red‑lined drawings and verify accuracy of as‑built drawings.
- Maintain safety methodology on site and respond to after‑hours emergencies on a rotating schedule.
- Use ticketing systems, perform root‑cause analysis, and prioritize tasks.
- 1+ year of industrial controls and automation experience, or a bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of industrial controls systems, knowledge of meters, devices, sensors, relays, and troubleshooting with hand tools, digital metering, or calibration equipment in a data center, hospitals, commercial complexes, water, power, oil & gas, or similar industries.
- 1+ year of experience working with low‑voltage controls, wiring, networking signals, electrical and mechanical systems, computers, and operating systems.
- Ability to work non‑standard hours, differing rotations/shift patterns, and overtime as required.
- Certified training in a related technical field with 1+ year of pertinent industrial controls or HVAC controls experience, or 3+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- ISA Certified Controls System Technician (CCST) Level I or higher.
- Experience with communication protocols such as MQTT, BACnet, and/or MODBUS.
- 5+ years in controls/automation, construction, or a related technical environment.
- Understanding of engineering documentation, electrical and mechanical diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Experience in data centers or mission‑critical environments.
- Fundamental knowledge of network design, layout, and low‑voltage (copper/fiber) cabling.
- Prior AWS or Amazon experience.
- 4+ years of military service.
