Our client is an engineering design and commissioning company with a national footprint, specializing in MEP critical facilities design. They provide design, commissioning, consulting, and management expertise in the critical facilities space with a focus on reliability, energy efficiency, sustainable design, and LEED expertise for enterprise, colocation, and hyperscale clients.
Responsibilities- Participate in daily commissioning activity meetings.
- Perform equipment pre‑start‑up and start‑up procedures, develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and methods of procedures (MOPs), and maintain comprehensive commissioning documentation.
- Prepare commissioning test procedures and reports, develop and maintain commissioning logs, equipment checklists, and other tools to track projects; write reports with recommendations, functional checklists, deficiency lists, and maintenance manuals.
- Review design criteria, specifications, drawings, submittals, and other commissioning documentation.
- Conduct integrated system testing, load‑bank testing, and compile all testing results.
- Develop and administer functional tests for electrical distribution, UPS, standby generators, and other systems.
- Prepare commission plans, assemble systems, and follow QC procedures.
- Help lead and manage external resources, schedule meetings, interface with clients, contractors, vendors, and owners’ agents, and coordinate construction and testing activities.
- Verify test reports, assist with field troubleshooting, and use power quality analyzers, disturbance analyzers, data loggers, and related equipment.
- 4–10+ years experience with electrical power systems.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Experience commissioning enterprise data centers, colos, and hyperscale facilities.
- Willingness to travel.
- Experience in complex or mission‑critical facilities is a plus.
- Prior data‑center or mission‑critical experience required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience testing electrical equipment in critical facilities or similar environments.
- Experience conducting Level 1–5 commissioning.
- Basic knowledge of systems design for various projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
