In this pivotal role, you’ll be the guardian of our data center operations, driving reliability and performance while optimizing operational efficiency across complex technical environments.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.
You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.
Key Job Responsibilities- Oversee all aspects of the data center’s critical physical infrastructure, ensuring high‑quality work without impacting internal or external customers.
- Manage teams of 24x7 engineering technicians in all facets of their careers.
- Engage in improvement projects, coordinate with support teams, and drive them from conception to completion.
- Coordinate daily with third‑party vendors to ensure adherence to contracted SLAs.
- Effectively manage the operations budget and expenditures.
- Act as the after‑hour on‑call Data Center Facility Manager, responding to issues and managing investigation, mitigation, and recovery.
- 2+ years of managerial or supervisory experience with five or more direct reports.
- 3+ years of industrial electrical or mechanical systems experience.
- 3+ years of administrative experience, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work in an environment that involves walking, stooping, bending, and climbing to access equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations, including feeders, transformers, generators, switch gear, UPS systems, UPS units, dryer ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and CRAC units.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Technology, or 5+ years of experience working in a data center or similar environment with emphasis on building and equipment operation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for conveying technical details.
- Experience conducting interviews and making effective hiring decisions.
The base salary range for this position is $–$ USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
