Project Overview:
Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline.
In this role, you will participate in subcontract formation and/or administration. Subcontract formation includes leading preparation and review of bid request packages and developing project contracts operating procedures. Subcontract administration includes continual progress review, forecasting, and communication of difficulties. Your work will ensure subcontract compliance with project requirements.
Major Responsibilities- Implements the assignment of various contract management tasks and the standard work process and procedures applicable to Contract Management in monitoring and controlling subcontractors post award.
- Monitors subcontractors' contractual (including statutory) compliance.
- Attend or lead, as required, subcontractor meetings including, as required, kick-off, work coordination and progress review meetings.
- Conducts, prepares and organizes assigned meetings, including but not limited to progress review meetings for the purpose of ensuring close review, monitoring, and agreement between Contractor and Subcontractor on all contractual matters, including subcontractor's performance and progress.
- Elevate cases of delays or non-performance.
- Track subcontractors' alignment to the overall contracting strategy on a continuous basis.
- Assess assigned subcontracts maintaining a continual review of progress and providing management with information regarding projected financial or technical difficulties.
- Utilizes resolution and escalation mechanism for timely resolution of issues with involvement of multiple stakeholders.
- Coordinates with designated staff on operational activities affecting contractual rights and obligations, subcontract performance, subcontract management and other major matters.
- Networks and connects with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
- Manages moderately complex subcontract changes by researching and gathering information, negotiating, and obtaining approval and settlement.
- Participates in contractual discussions of moderate complexity.
- Communicates information to the project team to ensure mutual understanding of contract terms and conditions.
- Assists project team when instructed in solving and attending to problems on commitments involving moderate monetary expenditure or risk, engineered technical specifications or supplementary commercial conditions.
- Monitors subcontractor submittals including, technical, insurance certificate and securities. Review and approve execution plans of assigned subcontractors.
- Ensure correspondence control and record management per project requirements.
- For invoice review, verify the deliverables and certify the payments are in accordance with the subcontract requirements.
- Prepares and maintains control and status reporting documents. Monitors cost vs. scope progress and prepares periodic status reports for management.
- Utilizes standard documentation and company’s automation tools for contract administration. Seeks and implements modification of standard documentation as required by specific project/site needs.
- Execute and/or support Subcontract Formation activities, as required.
- Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and SkillsCareer-level position within field. Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline. Seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization, resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. Minimal supervision with latitude for judgment. May assist less-experienced team members.
