Automation Technician
Payrate: $26.00 - $29.00/hr summary:
The ideal candidate is an experienced Automation Technician with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in PLC troubleshooting, ladder logic reading, HMI familiarity, and packaging equipment. The candidate should be adept at diagnosing electrical and automation issues within a GMP manufacturing environment and capable of collaborating effectively with mechanical technicians. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential. Responsibilities:
- Provide technical engineering support for system/equipment optimization strategies, upgrades, replacements, and modifications.
- Ensure utility systems, process maintenance, instrumentation/calibration/electrical systems, and technical cleaning systems comply with applicable industry, regulatory, and FDA standards.
- Coordinate technical support on engineering, regulatory, compliance, calibration, quality, microbial/environmental, technical cleaning, validation, electrical, and process automation issues.
- Assist during regulatory agency inspections and provide technical support in response to the FDA and other regulatory agencies.
- Support cGMP validation of equipment and processes.
- Complete advanced maintenance activities and operate sophisticated plant support equipment in accordance with CFRs, cGMPs, SOPs, job plans, and company policies.
- Investigate complex issues or problems with the mentorship of experienced staff.
- Maintain an up-to-date working spare parts inventory system for equipment/systems.
- Evaluate and optimize current maintenance procedures to improve the maintenance program.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment/system failures.
- Interpret and review utility, process system/equipment, plumbing, ductwork plans, architectural, and HVAC P&'s.
- Support operations using Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Support operations in non-standard shifts, including weekends and/or holidays as determined by the business.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Allen-Bradley PLC systems.
- Experience in electrical/automation troubleshooting of complex equipment.
- Excellent communication skills.
Desired
Skills:
- Experience with Rockwell / Allen-Bradley controls, Siemens, and B&R controls.
- Familiarity with sub-systems on equipment, including Systech serialization, Cognex cameras, and SCADA systems.
Pay Transparency:
The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $26.00 - $29.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience.
