Responsible to the assigned supervisor for performing intermediate level engineering work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient and economic accomplishment of assigned objectives.

• Able to identify issues with processes and tools and provide possible solutions and input to more seasoned personnel. Able to complete complex RPA with both new and legacy aspects.
• Completes RPA with limited supervision. Able to complete complex RTU configuration with both new and legacy aspects. Completes configuration with limited supervision. Beginning to expand communication technology competency to include legacy applications (Async, Sync, AEP, etc.) and support stakeholders with common SCADA related issues.
• Able to complete alarm and basic I/O 2411 settings for both greenfield and brownfield projects with limited supervision. Implements standards in appropriate measures with limited guidance from higher-level team members.
• Assists higher level team members with overall SCADA compliance items.
• Possesses advanced technical expertise and performs varied assignments with proficiency in applying theory and analytical techniques to solve diverse problems and complete extensive analyses. Understands interrelationship between systems and component equipment. Analyzes and recommends enhancements to business processes.
• Coordinates work activities of others within the work group, department, or other corporate entity as necessary to perform routine engineering work. Performs routine engineering activity independently. Provides training and guidance to lower-level employees. Develops input necessary to forecast costs for routine projects and improvement requisitions.
• Resolves and initiates solutions to routine and/or moderately complex problems that usually require additional definition or clarification before analysis can begin. Identifies problems beyond the normal routine. Seeks out opportunities and embraces new ideas and approaches.
• Helps coordinate the work of other engineers in an efficient and effective manner.
• Leads aspects of team effort and effectively leverages skills developed from company programs such as Power Up & Lead.

• An entry-level position for new graduates with a bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination in preparation for future licensing as a Professional Engineer (PE) is encouraged and preferred.

• Typically has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program along with two or more years of related engineering experience.
• Individuals with a master’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program may be considered for entry at this level.
• Individuals with a bachelor’s degree in engineering technology can satisfy the degree requirement if they obtain a certified Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• Engineering technology degree is preferred, but engineering degrees are also considered.

• Typically has four or more years of related engineering experience along with a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Or has two years of related engineering experience along with a master’s degree or PhD in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is encouraged and preferred.

• Typically has eight or more years of related engineering experience along with a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Or six years of related engineering experience along with a master’s or PhD in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred unless waived by EVP.
