Position Summary

The Lead Director, FP&A will serve as the senior finance leader for Ohio RISE, a specialized Medicaid program that supports children and youth with complex behavioral health needs. This role is responsible for overseeing financial planning, forecasting, reporting, performance management, and financial controls for the program.

The ideal candidate is a strategic finance leader who can translate complex financial, operational, and healthcare data into clear insights and recommendations. This person will work closely with business leaders to improve financial performance, manage risks, and support long-term program success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify risks, opportunities, and improvement actions.
  • Develop clear financial insights that connect business results, medical cost trends, contract performance, and strategic priorities.
  • Partner with Ohio RISE leadership, Medicaid finance teams, and enterprise stakeholders to support operational and financial goals.
  • Support regulatory reporting, audits, compliance requirements, and financial controls.
  • Analyze healthcare cost trends, rate adequacy, and affordability opportunities.
  • Improve financial processes, governance, and collaboration across teams.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor finance team members.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and recommendations for senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • Must reside in Ohio.
  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare finance, managed care, insurance, FP&A, or related P&L management roles.
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasts, financial reporting, variance analysis, and performance metrics.
  • Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and influence business decisions through financial insights.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience leading teams or cross-functional initiatives with responsibility for quality, accuracy, and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, or Commercial health insurance products.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid funding and reimbursement models, including rate development, capitation, medical cost trends, MLR, quality incentive programs, state reporting, and contract compliance.
  • Strong financial modeling and scenario-planning skills.
  • Experience working in complex, matrixed organizations and collaborating with state or regulatory agencies.

The typical pay range for this role is:

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.

This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
