In this pivotal role, you will be the guardian of our data center operations, driving reliability and performance while optimizing operational efficiency across complex technical environments.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

• Oversee all aspects of the data center's critical physical infrastructure. Ensure that all work performed within the space is done to high quality and without impact to internal/external customers.
• Manage teams of 24x7 engineering technicians in all facets of their career.
• Engage in improvement projects, often requiring outreach to a variety of support teams, and drive them from conception to completion.
• Coordinate daily with a multitude of third‑party vendors to ensure adherence to contracted SLAs.
• Effectively and efficiently manage the operations budget and expenditures.
• Routinely operate as the after‑hour on‑call Data Center Facility Manager for the data centers in the region, responding to any issues and managing investigation, mitigation, and recovery.

• 3+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• 2+ years of managerial/supervisory experience with 5 or more direct reports.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial electrical or mechanical systems.

• Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations, including feeders, transformers, generators, switch gear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and CRAC units.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, engineering technology, or equivalent, or 5+ years of experience working in a data center or other mission‑critical environment with an emphasis on building and equipment operation.
• Experience communicating technical details verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work in an environment that involves walking, stooping, bending, and climbing to access equipment.
• Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience.
