Overview
Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots the physical hardware and infrastructure supporting cloud and network systems. They monitor server performance, manage cabling, resolve hardware faults, and ensure optimal environmental conditions to maximize the uptime of critical computing resources.
Responsibilities- Hardware Lifecycle Management: Install, configure, and upgrade physical servers, racks, switches, and storage devices.
- Network & Cabling: Run, terminate, and manage fiber optic and copper cabling. Trace and troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and replace defective hardware components (e.g., hard drives, memory, power supplies).
- Monitoring & Maintenance: Observe system metrics and environmental controls (cooling, power usage) to prevent outages.
- Asset Tracking & Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of inventory, hardware changes, rack elevations, and cross-connections
