Data Center Infrastructure Technician
Role OverviewWe are seeking a Data Center Infrastructure Engineer to support the deployment, maintenance, and operational excellence of enterprise data center environments. In this role, you will be responsible for managing Layer 1 infrastructure, supporting critical data center operations, troubleshooting incidents, coordinating vendor activities, and implementing infrastructure changes. You will work closely with Product Owners, Service Owners, and Subject Matter Experts to execute projects involving data center installations, migrations, decommissions, power events, and infrastructure enhancements.
Key Responsibilities- Independently identify, troubleshoot, and resolve onsite risks, incidents, and high-priority operational issues.
- Monitor incident queues, perform shift turnover activities, support media processing, and coordinate vendor escorts.
- Execute critical data center activities including hardware installations, rack deployments, system relocations, reconfigurations, decommissions, and power-down events.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Service Owners, and SMEs to validate requirements and deliver infrastructure-related user stories.
- Support Layer 1 infrastructure design, implementation, documentation, and operational improvements.
- Contribute to infrastructure planning, inventory management, capacity planning, and lifecycle management initiatives.
- Assess the impact of hardware, software, and infrastructure changes on data center services and operations.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and implementation records.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical reviews, demonstrations, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Support process improvement initiatives and contribute to operational excellence programs.
- Assist with automation efforts, API integrations, and CI/CD-driven infrastructure workflows.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- 3–5+ years of experience designing, deploying, and managing enterprise data center environments.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Data Center Certifications, BICSI Certifications, Network+ or equivalent.
- Experience with data center expansion projects, facility builds, and major infrastructure upgrades.
- Knowledge of common network topologies and carrier infrastructure deployment methods.
- Familiarity with power distribution, cooling systems, fire suppression systems, and physical security controls.
- Experience with API integrations, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of operating system deployments, software installations, and upgrade processes.
- Understanding of network monitoring protocols including SNMP, CDP, ICMP, VLANs, LAN/WAN technologies.
- Experience implementing network security hardening, configuration standards, and operational controls.

Salary and Other CompensationHourly rate: $27/hr – $32/hr pay may vary based on geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
