Infra Delivery Manager; AWS

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. • Manage a group of technicians installing and building server rack capacity for our customers.
• Deliver capacity to existing data centers.
• Help build and bring online new data centers.
• Continuously improve all processes and procedures.
• Assist and manage relationships with external vendors and contractors.
• Liaise with internal teams and management groups.
• Ensure adherence to and exceed local health & safety standards in all data centers.
• Create and maintain metrics on all aspects of data centers and use them to drive positive change.
• Assist in implementing service methodologies including incident, problem, change, and capacity management.
• Support data centers in various operational stages, including training at established locations until the site becomes fully operational.

• Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.
• Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational.
• Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of assigned facility.
• Candidate must be able to travel over 50 miles or commute less than 50 miles to active data center sites as required by business needs.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 2+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience.
• 2+ years of management or team lead function experience.

• 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience.
• Experience with data cabling or computer facilities maintenance.
• Experience analyzing metrics to implement business improvements.
• Experience representing your team or technical area to senior management.
• Experience contributing to the definition and implementation of automation opportunities within an operations environment.
• Experience with Lean or Six Sigma analytical techniques.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications, managing complex calendars, planning and organizing events, and coordinating domestic and international travel.
• Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure (network, data center, hardware, software).
• Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment.
• Meets or exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role.
• Meets or exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role.
