In this pivotal role you will be the guardian of our data center operations, driving reliability and performance while optimizing operational efficiency across complex technical environments.
Data Center Facility Manager role acts as Amazon’s front line for hands‑on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting. Responsibilities include maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting mission‑critical data center facility equipment such as stand‑by diesel generators, fuel systems, 3‑phase electrical systems, switch gear, UPS units, PDUs, wet‑cell batteries, CRAC units, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, water chemical systems, air handlers, pumps, motors, fire suppression systems, building automation systems, and general facilities equipment.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.
Key job responsibilities include:
- Oversee all aspects of the data center’s critical infrastructure, ensuring high quality work with no impact to internal or external customers.
- Oversee the safety, security, availability, quality, and performance of the team while driving a positive customer experience across multiple shift schedules.
- Manage teams of 24/7 engineering technicians and Facility Managers throughout their careers.
- Engage in improvement projects, driving them from conception to completion.
- Ensure staffing levels are maintained and grow with expansions.
- Be actively involved in ongoing construction activities.
- Coordinate daily with multiple third‑party vendors ensuring adherence to contracted SLAs.
- Effectively and efficiently manage the operations budget and expenditures.
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
- 3+ years of experience in mission‑critical facilities such as hospital, military, or public safety facilities, including industrial electrical and mechanical systems.
- Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.
- Experience in data center engineering or operations.
- Experience in construction or project management.
- Experience leading technical teams through daily operations and maintenance evolutions.
- Ability to work in an environment that involves walking, stooping, bending, and climbing to access equipment.

The base salary range for this position is USA, OH, New Albany – to USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
