About the Role

Accountabilities and Responsibilities- Will need a comprehensive knowledge of safety rules, manufacturer recommendations, OSHA regulations and general work safety practices. Understand and follow without exception PPE requirements, safe electrical practices, Energy Isolation procedures, HMIS, and other plant safety requirements.
- Work jointly with production team to ensure that equipment is in safe and efficient operational status at all times. Works individually and jointly with plant team members to perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on production equipment to ensure optimum utilization and process capability.
- Must be able to interpret and understand basic electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic drawings and functions.
- Responsible for the maintenance of the spare parts crib in an orderly fashion with utilizing first in/first out methodology. Assist Maintenance Planner in assuring appropriate levels of inventory.
- Must have strong verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate to all levels.
- Must be a self-starting, inwardly motivated and proactive individual. Needs to be able to work with a minimum amount of supervision and follow up.
- Must have the ability to handle stress and the pressures of multiple tasks, demanding schedules and deadlines, diverse personalities, and daily conflicts. Conflict resolution skills are vitally important.
- Must utilize own personal basic tools and follow proper product safety measures when completing maintenance.
- Work overtime as required, including to cover vacations.

- Two-year associate degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or equivalent experience base. Course work must have provided a solid base in plastics, plastic manufacturing equipment, machine tool, and power transmission equipment, rigging, hydraulics and pneumatics and electrical.
- Ability to document repairs, equipment status, and the equipment history files.
- Perform all plant equipment start up and shutdown procedures individually and/or with production team personnel in a safe and efficient manner.
- Job will require good physical strength and dexterity necessary to move around moving machinery including climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, bending, etc. There will be frequent exposure to the elements and the heat and humidity within the plant operation.
