Manufacturing Process Technician PM Shift

Overview

Manufacturing Process Technician I at Amgen supports packaging operations by operating automated manufacturing equipment. The role includes operating, troubleshooting across equipment such as automated lines, assembly, labeling, printing, and robotic automation, and ensuring product quality through equipment performance. The technician will follow GMPs and CFR regulations, document activities, and participate in daily performance meetings.

• Operate and troubleshoot automated manufacturing equipment used in packaging operations.
• Cross-train to operate and troubleshoot faults across equipment types (assembly, labeling, printing, robotic automation).
• Ensure product quality as a result of equipment performance and conduct problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and CFRs; report discrepancies to Team Leader or Production Supervisor.
• Maintain Right First-Time quality and compliance.
• Receive and prepare components for manufacturing; feed components into equipment and perform sanitation activities.
• Document paperwork and understand Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and performance metrics; participate in daily performance meetings.
• Use pallet jacks and perform pallet wrapping as required; utilize computer systems for material inventory and electronic batch records.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive improvement opportunities; ensure components and products are available for continuous operation.

• Basic Qualifications: High school diploma / GED and 1 year of Manufacturing or Operations experience OR Associate’s degree.
• Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of GMP/regulatory environment experience; knowledge of GMP principles; drug substance manufacturing experience; ability to stand or sit for extended periods; ability to assemble, disassemble, operate and understand simple to moderately complex equipment; basic measurements and metric understanding; ability to work effectively individually and in a team; ability to document processes in electronic batch records; coachable with the ability to take feedback and show improvement;
  
  capacity to follow procedures and report malfunctions; strong communication and attention to detail.
