Facilities Automation Technician - JLL
The Facilities Automation Technician is responsible for monitoring, operating, and supporting the Building Automation Systems (BAS) that control utilities, HVAC equipment, cleanroom environments, and facility infrastructure. This role helps ensure reliable system performance, environmental stability, and documentation accuracy in a high-reliability, audit-ready environment. The role works closely with maintenance, engineering, quality, and operations teams to support system performance, alarm response, troubleshooting, and controlled system changes.
A hospitality mindset is fundamental to delivering exceptional workplace experiences for our client. We seek candidates who excel in collaborative environments, communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, maintain high standards of accuracy, and adapt quickly to resolve challenges.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Monitor Building Automation System performance including graphics, trends, alarms, sequences, and environmental conditions.
- Respond to BAS alarms, document events, and escalate issues per site procedures.
- Maintain stable temperature, humidity, airflow, and pressure relationships for controlled environments.
- Troubleshoot BAS field devices including sensors, actuators, valves, VAVs, AHUs, controllers, communication modules, and networked components.
- Support configuration, graphics updates, point checks, sequence verification, and system tuning.
- Assist with preventive maintenance, calibrations, corrective work, and system repairs in coordination with maintenance teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation in CMMS (Maximo preferred) for work orders, alarm responses, and BAS activities.
- Support compliance with GMP/GxP expectations, including ALCOA+ data integrity, audit trails, and user access management.
- Follow formal change processes for modifications to logic, sequences, setpoints, and hardware.
- Partner with engineering, quality, operations, and maintenance teams on alarms, investigations, and root-cause analysis.
- Provide control-room support for environmental monitoring, equipment startup/shutdown, and system performance reviews.
- Support commissioning, qualification, and system validation activities (FAT/SAT, Cx, IQ/OQ tasks).
- Review trends, dashboards, and environmental stability data to identify inefficiencies, drift, or equipment degradation.
- Support energy-management initiatives while ensuring environmental control requirements remain met.
- Document findings and escalate long-term or recurring issues to automation and engineering leadership.
