Cable Technician

Compensation:

$25.00 - $28.00/hr – depending on YOE

Ongoing contract

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 3-5 years of telecom/structured cabling experience
• Experience with fiber optic and copper cabling installations
• Ability to install, test, service, and decommission structured cabling systems
• Experience with low-voltage and communications cabling
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
• Knowledge of structured cabling installation, routing, labeling, and commissioning
• Experience building/removing racks, cabinets, cable trays, and pathways
• Proficiency with telecom and construction hand tools
• Ability to distinguish colors for cable identification
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments
• Ability to work in confined spaces, raised floors, ladders, and lifts
• Flexibility to work overtime, nights, and weekends as project demands require
• Strong communication skills and professional attitude
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record

• OSHA 10 Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
• First Aid/CPR Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
• FOA Certifications
• BICSI Cabling Certifications
• Open to domestic travel and supporting additional U.S. sites

• Install, test, troubleshoot, service, and decommission structured cabling systems
• Perform fiber optic, copper, communications, and low-voltage cabling work
• Build and remove racks, cabinets, cable trays, pathways, and related infrastructure
• Route, terminate, label, and commission cabling according to project standards
• Read and execute work from drawings, blueprints, specifications, and manufacturer guidelines
• Ensure all installations meet customer requirements, design intent, and industry standards
• Follow all company and customer safety policies to maintain an accident-free work environment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area
• Perform quality assurance checks on completed work
• Assist with material planning, tool preparation, and project coordination
• Support and mentor less experienced technicians
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, teammates, and customer representatives
• Travel to support projects at additional customer sites when needed

Insight Global is seeking Level II Cable Technicians for a top technology infrastructure client. This candidate will support large-scale data center construction and infrastructure projects by installing, testing, maintaining, and decommissioning fiber optic, copper, and low-voltage cabling systems. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of structured cabling experience and be comfortable performing hands-on installation work in fast-paced data center environments.

Responsibilities include rack and cabinet builds, pathway installations, cable routing and terminations, reading technical drawings, ensuring quality and safety compliance, and mentoring junior technicians.
