• Hours vary per school day Monday-Friday
• 187 work days
• Minimum pay $27.03/hour
• Must possess or be physically qualified and capable of passing certain training requirements in order to secure a valid commercial driver license to drive a school bus
• Must complete pre-service and in-service training required to maintain driving status
• Maintains student control on the bus to ensure the safety and welfare of all school bus passengers
• Maintains the school bus to ensure the safety and welfare of each passenger being transported. Performs pre-trip inspections as required. Reports all malfunctions or suspicious noises to the mechanic. Ensures good radio communication between bus and base so that issues can be handled efficiently
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all safety and emergency features on the bus
• Coordinates instructions with the special education department
• Ability to cope with specialized needs and situations related to servicing students with disabilities and their families
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee
