Job Description
Amazon is seeking a logistics professional for our Amazon Web Services Team in the Columbus, OH area.
Key Job Responsibilities- Receive parts, maintain inventory, and check‑out parts as needed to Data Center Technicians and Engineers
- Load and unload shipments and transport parts, racks, and equipment between different locations, including localized driving of various transportation vehicles
- Attend company‑provided forklift operator training
- Complete company‑provided training in driving box trucks up to 26’ in length
- Handle sensitive/classified materials
- Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally work is in an office environment
- Work overtime as required
- Lift loads of up to 40 pounds and carry them for short distances
- Participate in group lifts of 41 pounds or more
- Frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
- Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment
- Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance
- Push or pull heavy objects into position
- Work in a noisy environment
- Stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods of time
- Comfortable and willing to regularly drive a variety of motorized vehicles, including box trucks up to 26’ in length
- Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid state‑appropriate driver’s license
- Must be able to obtain Driver Qualification File (DQF) and/or Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Must obtain and maintain a DOT Med Card and be eligible to drive in accordance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Qualifications
- Experience as a logistics professional supporting inventory cycle counts, shipments, maintenance, stock control functions, and reverse logistics
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above
- 1+ year(s) experience driving box trucks up to 26’ in length and operating a forklift (or similar powered lifting equipment)
- Experience using a computerized Inventory Management System (IMS)
- Strong understanding of shipping & receiving, inventory, and warehousing practices
Candidate must be a US citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
Logistics Specialists will be required to keep precise records of all commodities going in and out of the company, and maintain the cleanliness, organization, and safety of all work spaces.
