DSV - Global Transport and Logistics Position Overview
Forklift Driver (6pm - 6am) – Full Time – Terminal/Warehouse/Transport
LocationUSA – New Albany, Briscoe Parkway
Pay & ShiftsBase pay: $23/hr plus shift differential of $2.50 for 2nd shift.
Shift options:
- 2A: 6pm–6:30am, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday (shift differential)
- 2B: 6pm–6:30am, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday (shift differential)
- Operate power industrial trucks to move, locate, stack, and count merchandise.
- Perform receiving/put-away: unload inbound shipments, input data into WMS, efficiently stack and store product, maintain organized work area.
- Order picking: pull and prepare for shipment, ensure correct quantity and type, meet customer service standards, prepare freight accurately.
- Quality: ensure inbound/outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage, report quality variances.
- Delivery: move product from staging/storage to production lines or docks, maintain proper documentation.
- Inventory: maintain records and reports for inventory control, assist in physical inventories, ensure stock rotation.
- Safety, housekeeping, compliance: keep area clean and orderly, comply with SOPs and site policies.
- Maintenance: perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance; inspect and conduct minor forklift maintenance.
- Other duties: fuel tank changes, pallet repair, other site‑specific tasks, overtime as required.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 6 months experience in logistics, distribution, or related environment.
- Proficiency operating material handling equipment (MHE).
- Must have worked in warehouse temperatures ranging from mild to moderate.
- Completion of a forklift training program and active forklift certification.
- Basic computer skills; experience with RF scanners and WMS functions.
- Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Basic to intermediate math skills for inventory counting.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to perform work with minimal supervision, and adaptability to fast‑paced environment.
- 1–2 years of experience in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
- 1–2 years forklift experience and current or prior MHE certification.
- Occasional handling and fingering.
- Frequent bending.
- Constant walking and standing; ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 21–50 pounds.
- Reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel as required.
Low to moderate noise level, minimal exposure to fumes or airborne particles; typical warehouse temperature range.
