Job DescriptionA Controls Engineer – HW applies electrical/pneumatic theory for the design and implementation of industrial controls systems and assembly tools. Requires professional, proactive, and positive interaction with customers.
Responsibilities- Design complete electrical panel or pneumatic control systems for industrial applications using AutoCAD, EPLAN, and other tools.
- Implement Allen Bradley, Siemens PLC/HMI software; experience with GM, Ford, Stellantis or other OEM design templates preferred.
- Support manufacturing resources and customers by troubleshooting and debugging systems.
- Provide onsite support to customers as needed.
- Collaborate with mechanical design team to create new or modify existing controls systems.
- Travel within the continental US, Canada and Mexico as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Design and incorporate various controls components.
- Trigger and troubleshoot existing installations.
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Strong PC, keyboard, and software proficiency.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, EPLAN, and basic RSLogix 5000 knowledge.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proven organizational and prioritization skills with limited supervision.
- Presentation and explanation of technical conclusions.
- Maintain confidentiality under pressure and flexibility to changing schedules.
Associate degree in electrical technology, manufacturing, or related field plus at least three years of related experience. At least two years managing multiple projects and three years of PLC programming experience. Siemens and Allen Bradley hardware knowledge preferred. Willingness to enroll in and complete customer‑specific training for certification is required; paid training will be provided. Existing certifications may need updating.
