The Job:
As a Supervisor – you'll be part of our Metals team working as an on-site employee. You'll get to:
- Maintain production records for production counts and standard hours.
- Enforce safe working environments and activities.
- Supervise all employees in the manufacturing departments.
- Own responsibility for plant security.
- Recommend disciplinary action for all production personnel.
- Responsible for adhering/enforcing to all company rules: TS16949, Quality guidelines, and HR published procedures.
- Own responsibility for production runs, proper change over procedures, quality of product, and maximizing the production area's full potential.
- Report immediately to the Operations Manager any difficulties arising due to conditions of machines or employee actions.
- Set up and assign personnel to specific jobs according to scheduling requirements.
- Ensure availability of component parts and supplies.
- Ensure proper installation of safety equipment and that safety regulations are adhered to.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing process problems and rectify accordingly.
- Ensure that housekeeping is maintained within assigned area of responsibility.
- Analyze and submit operational and/or cost savings recommendations as is feasible.
- Maintain efficiency levels at an optimum level and explain deviations from expected levels.
- Responsible for continuous improvement within the department.
- Provide prompt, accurate documentation of machine, material or tooling problems to appropriate functional area for resolution.
- Take a proactive approach to ensure working/processing environment meets level of expectations at all times and report discrepancies, i.e. housekeeping, machine condition, material, tooling and personnel competence.
- This position will report to the Operations Manager but will interact with all required functions necessary to provide the shop floor with resources required to meet goals in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Full Safety Responsibility including:
- Promote Behavioral Based Safety throughout plant
- Monthly Safety Trainings/Investigations
- Complete Safety Incident Reporting
- Support continuous improvement philosophy driving lean manufacturing principles.
- 6S projects, SMED events, Kaizen
- Responsible for manning requirements, training and talent development, goal attainment, and continuous improvement within these areas.
- Maintain time and attendance tracking.
- Quality Responsibilities:
- Perform daily layered audits.
- Quality investigations 8D and 4 Block
- Leadership and guidance for Quality Auditors
- Tool distribution.
- Assist operations with scheduling, printing, and distribution of work orders.
- Interface with other Supervisors to ensure efficient operations between shifts.

- Minimum 3 years Manufacturing experience required (cold forming, preferred)
- 3 years' direct supervisory experience required
- Associates degree (preferred)
- Strong leadership and effective communication skills
- Knowledge of production equipment/tooling
- Ability to work a full-time flexible schedule, including some early morning, overnight and weekend shifts, to work overtime as needed, and to respond to urgent issues at the plant when they arise
- Specialized supervision training and management courses, including Six Sigma certifications, preferred
