CNC Lathe Programmer

A precision machining company in New Baltimore, Michigan is hiring a CNC Lathe Programmer to join its production team. This role programs, sets up, and operates CNC lathe equipment to produce parts to customer specifications, working with live tooling and Mastercam software.

Schedule:

Full time, on-site in New Baltimore, MI.

Compensation: $32.00 to $38.00 per hour, based on experience.

What You'll Do:

This role programs CNC lathes using Mastercam, including setup and operation of live tooling configurations across a variety of CNC lathe machines. The programmer machines parts to customer-stated specifications, verifies machine settings by measuring positions and first-run parts, and inspects finished parts against blueprint requirements. Ongoing monitoring of dimensions and tolerances is required, along with adjustments to maintain accuracy throughout production runs.

The role also includes completing production and quality documentation, keeping the work area clean and organized, and following all company safety and quality procedures. Additional duties may be assigned based on production needs.

Required Qualifications:

• 10 or more years of experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes
• Proficiency programming with Mastercam
• Experience using precision measuring instruments, including gauges, micrometers, and calipers
• Ability to perform machine setup and make program edits
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Ability to read and interpret CNC programs to verify machined parts meet specifications
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with live tooling setups on multi-axis CNC lathes
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality standards
• Experience training or mentoring junior machine operators
