Role DescriptionThis full-time, on-site Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Lathe Programmer role is based in New Baltimore, MI. The role involves programming CNC lathes, setting up machines, and optimizing machining processes to meet quality and efficiency standards. Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting technical drawings, creating and modifying CNC programs, selecting tooling, and troubleshooting machining issues. The role also includes collaborating with operators and engineers, verifying finished parts against specifications, and maintaining documentation for programs and setups.
The CNC Lathe Programmer is expected to follow all safety procedures and contribute to continuous process improvement.
- Ability to interpret and apply Technical Drawing and blueprint reading skills to machining operations.
- Proficiency in CNC Programming and Programming logic for lathe operations and related equipment.
- Hands-on experience in Machining, including lathe setup, tooling selection, and process optimization.
- Knowledge of Milling operations and coordination with lathe work when required.
- Experience with CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Haas or similar) and use of measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality and safety standards.
- Ability to work on-site in a manufacturing environment, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and manage multiple jobs and priorities.
- Relevant technical training or certification in machining or CNC programming; prior experience in precision manufacturing is preferred.
