Harbor Oaks Hospital, New Baltimore’s leading Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Center, is seeking a passionate RN Nurse Manager to work at our facility in New Baltimore, MI. At Harbor Oaks Hospital, safety is our priority! We prioritize the safety of both patients and staff by employing Personal Panic Alarm devices across all clinical and non‑clinical areas. PurposeStatement
Assists the DON/CNO with directing, planning, coordinating, monitoring and supervising the effective and efficient use of the operations of nursing for assigned units. Oversees the delivery of behavioral health/nursing services in a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times. Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments and administration to ensure that all residents’ physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental and cultural needs are met and when they are not met, acknowledges and works to resolve customer complaints.
Provides leadership to assure compliance with local, state and federal regulations, as well as nursing practice standards. Recognizes that patient safety is a top priority.
- Anticipates and effectively manages changes in census and acuity and allocates nursing resources based on measurement of patient acuity/care needed
- Role models expectations related to customer service and demonstrates a sense of urgency related to the importance of patient safety
- Accountable for the standard of care at the facility, providing consultations and expertise in the delivery of care to patients
- Serves as a clinical and service resource to nursing staff and other staff as assigned
- Manages the activities of staff, coordinating safe and appropriate care between departments and disciplines
- Manages and evaluates work activities of nursing, technical, clerical, service or maintenance staff for the unit, work group and other facility staff as directed
- Analyzes information/situation to choose the best solution(s) to solve problems
- Responsible for recruitment, hiring and training of new staff
- Identifies the educational needs of others and develops educational or training programs
- Assists with the development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures for the facility
- Prepares reports to inform management of the status and implementation of programs, services and quality initiatives of the unit
- Performs administrative or managerial functions such as planning budgets and authorizing expenditures
- Provides direct care as needed
- Performs other functions and tasks as assigned
- BSN or higher strongly preferred
- Current registered nursing license in State of facility required
- Three years as a registered nurse strongly preferred
- Two years of registered nursing experience required
