Title: Senior Accountant

Salary: $80,000–$105,000, depending on experience

Location: New Bedford, MA

Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities:

• Handle day-to-day general ledger accounting and maintain accurate financial records

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments

• Perform monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations

• Assist with month-end and year-end close

• Reconcile mortgage-related transactions, loan activity, commissions, fees, and other accounts

• Assist with monthly financial statements and management reporting

• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies

• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management as needed

• Assist with audit requests, schedules, and supporting documentation

• Partner with leadership on process improvements as the organization continues to grow

Senior Accountant Qualifications:

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred

• Experience with in mortgage lending, mortgage brokerage, banking, or a closely related industry strongly preferred

• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

• Strong Excel skills

• Ability to work accurately in a deadline-driven environment

• Strong communication and organizational skills
